The reinforcement of 500 "intelligence officers" by the Indonesian military (TNI) to Acheh shows how panicky Jakarta is in facing the resilience of the Acheh National Armed Forces (TNA). TNI's assurance to the Indonesian Parliament at the launching of the martial law more than two years ago that it would be able to crash the Free Acheh Movement (GAM) within 3 months has been proven as nothing more than a shameless and empty boasting that it now tries to cover up by murdering civilians that it claims to be members of GAM. The 100% increase in the number of the so-called "intelligence personnel" to Acheh is a very serious threat to the civilian population. Kidnapping and forced disappearance are the trademark of the Indonesian intelligence. For the TNI, the work of its "Intel" corps is not as is usually understood as the gathering of military intelligence, but secret kidnapping and assassination.
