Thousands of troops from joint TNI/Brimob forces are conducting rigorous military operations in the District of Idi Rayeuk, Acheh Timur, including in the villages of Teupin Batee, Seuneubok Langa, Kuburan Cina, Gampong Jalan, Buket Linteueng, Buket Jok and surrounding areas. During the operation, in which tanks armoured vehicles are being deployed, TNI soldiers opened fire. However, TNA troops restrained from responding with armed contact.

Excesses:

Military operations were launched by join TNI Kostrad, TNI-SGI and Bromob di the village Teupin Batee, Idi Rayeuk, East Acheh (some 400 meters away from the Medan-Banda Aceh road, approximately 2km from Idi Rayeuk town). During the operations Indonesian soldiers ambushed and shot to death two TNA soldiers who were among a group of 10 instructed to assist disaster victims in the Idi Rayeuk area. The other eight TNA managed to escape the attack. Indonesian soldiers then burned down a civilians house.

The victims were:
1. Hasan bin Abubakar, 20 yrs, Kampung Gampong Jalan-Idi Rayek, Acheh Timur.
2. Aridan bin Abdul Manaf, 20 yrs, Kampung Teupin Batee-Idi Rayek, Acheh Timur. (Both victims were personnel under TNA Wilayah Peureulak. They were shot to death on the spot, although they were unarmed).
3. Hamdani bin Burhan, 35 yrs, warga Kampung Teupin Batee-Idi Rayek, Acheh Timur. The victim's house was burned down.

TNI troops are also conducting intensive operations in the villages of Seuneubok Bayu, Benteng, Blang Rambong, Jambo Reuhat, Pangoe, and CV-8 Banda Alam subdistrict, East Acheh.

Thousands of TNI troops are conducting intensive military operations in Bireuen Regency. The TNI troops, who entered the area before Sunday's earthquake and remain there until today, are in the following locations:

- Makmur subdistrict: villages of Ara Lipeh, Simpang Lhee Meureubo, Cot Baloi, Simpang Rame, Batee Dabai and Matang Kumbang.
- Ganda Pura subdistrict: villages of Cot Mirah Pati, Paloh Peuradi, Urong Kumbang, Leubue Cot Kruet, Samuti, Cot Tubee and Dama Kawan.
- Peusangan subdistrict: villages of Seuneubok, Buket Sudan, Kubu Raya, Alue Kruep, Rambong Payong, Mampr, Alue Iet, Sarah Kubu and Blang Dalam.

TNI troops also launched operations into the forest to search for TNA/GAM. TNI troops searched all those who passed through the village of Sarah Kubu-Peusangan (location of Water Intek, clean water pump for a number of vital projects in North Acheh), as the people were on their way to search for or help their relatives and friends who were affected by the earthquake and tsunami.
